First Day Out & Franchisee Performs First Solo Repair for Dealership

(Northfield, Ohio) Javier Castillo completed The Ultragloss Boot Camp last Friday. After finalizing some of his new business arrangements he went out to solicit some dealerships. His first day on the road he performed his first solo repair: “Javier is ace,” said Ultragloss founder Steve Marble, “the hardest part of this job is getting out and soliciting the dealerships to get the work and he’s doing a great job getting in there and talking to the right people.” Javier did not have any prior automotive paint or sales experience.  With the support of Ultragloss and the confidence gained during his training, he knows how to get in there and perform a quality repair.  Ultragloss style repairs add value to the dealership’s inventory and can typically be completed faster than the dealer’s existing body shop– and at a fraction of the cost. Like a lot of Ultragloss franchisees and franchise prospects, Javier was worried about dealerships with existing body shops.  Sometimes dealerships think that they make the most money by using their body shops for all their repair needs.  This is not the case.  Body shops typically specialize in large-scale jobs: insurance jobs, mechanical work, etc.  Ultragloss specializes in small-scale jobs that focus specifically on the appearance. Ultragloss Automotive Appearance Specialists are trained to inspect the whole vehicle for cosmetic damages.  They perform the work same-day so that vehicle is ready to go back out on the lot and sell. In this way our dealerships let their body shops focus on their specialty (where they make the most money) and they use Ultragloss to save money on repairs while increasing profits on their used inventory. Ultragloss specialists help dealers managed their used inventory.  In this way, the Ultragloss business model is easily implemented into dealerships and that makes the sales process easier for the techs.  Still, the sales is typically the most difficult part of the job. Last year was exciting. We’ve been steadily growing the past few years. Ultragloss has added some new people to our retail shops and in our corporate office. We’ve also added a few franchises to our list in this area and another in Dayton. I’ve been approached a number of times from locals about our franchise opportunity: what it is and why I did it. First off, franchising was way different than I imagined it would be. It was a test of patience, a legal nightmare (I don’t think I’ve ever read so much legal jargon in my life), and extremely exciting all at the same time. I wanted to grow this brand, but I wasn’t sure how. Great Turn-Out at the Cincinnati Franchise Show

We had a great turn-out at the Cincinnati Franchise Show and had the opportunity to talk to a lot of different people! This past weekend, Ultragloss showcased at the Cincinnati Franchise and Business Opportunities Show.  Over 900 people attended the show on Saturday alone.  Ultragloss representatives spoke with several people who were interested in going into business for themselves.  Are you one of those people?  Because if you’re looking to go into business in Cincinnati, Ohio— The City has some really great incentives for start-ups. The great thing about Cincinnati, Ohio is that the mayor, Mark Mallory, is really hands-on when it comes to economic development.  He met with several vendors (including Ultragloss) and got a feel for the type of business the vendors were promoting.  After speaking with him at the show, we learned how dedicated he was to attracting small businesses because they are the backbone of the US Economy.  Check out the City’s business incentives here. Hopefully more cities will follow The City of Cincinnati’s lead by granting small business start-ups more incentives to do business.  Small businesses help grow the local economy because they keep more money in the local economy.  Judging by the large turn-out to the Cincinnati Franchise and Business Opportunities Expo, there are lot of people looking to go into business for themselves in Cincinnati.  The confusing part for some was the difference between a franchise and a business opportunity. A franchise opportunity is often more expensive to get into and one is required to pay a royalty fee.  A business opportunity is traditionally less-expensive.  One of the major differences comes in the form of on-going support.  This is something franchisors offer that most business opportunities do not.  Additionally, being a part of a franchise, is being part of a branded, proven system.  Learn about the differences between a franchise and business opportunity here. New UG Paint Franchise Launching Soon

New Automotive Paint Franchise Launching in the Cleveland Area This March Javier Castillo joined the Ultragloss Team Thursday January 17, 2013 and is expected to enter training sometime next month.  He will launch his new Ultragloss Automotive Paint Franchise this March in the Cleveland area. Javier’s friend, Tony Lopane is also an Ultragloss franchisee.  What do these two have common?  They both used to work for Ford Motor Company.  Ford is closing down their company here in Ohio and have offered workers two options: relocation or a buyout. “At Ford I was getting paid by the hour no matter how much I did, I was paid my wage.  I’m a motivated individual and now I can use that motivation in my own business,” Javier continues, “and I have the freedom to do more and control my schedule.  And I have the support to do this.  My friend does this and I’m confident that I have the right people behind me.” When we asked Javier what interested him in the Ultragloss Automotive Paint Franchise he said, “the whole aspect of the business.  I’ve always liked cars and I’ve always tried to keep my vehicles in a nice pristine shape.  So to make money by making them [vehicles] look good is a win-win.  Also, not to be cliché, but you guys: the friendly staff.” Javier will be working outdoors and more in control of his hours.  Overall he is very excited about launching his own automotive paint franchise and is excited about this venture. “Javier is highly motivated.  When I met him for the first time, I could tell he was cut out for this.  He has an interest in automobiles, he’s sharp, and he’s got great people skills.  I’m really excited to have him on our team,” Ultragloss founder, Steve Marble said, “and he has some great recommendations from one of our own, so we’re really comfortable moving forward.” Ultragloss is excited about Javier joining the team this year and are looking forward to his grand opening. Ultragloss is pleased to announce its newest franchisee, Rick Burdine, has started his boot-camp style franchise training today at Ultragloss America headquarters located in Akron, Ohio.  Rick will be operating his new automotive repair franchise out of Dayton, Ohio.  12-days from now Rick will be headed back to Dayton after his rigorous training.  As he prepares to open his franchise, one of our automotive appearance and sales specialists will travel with him to his territory where he will learn how to solicit new dealership accounts. We take pride in helping our franchisees get their business moving.
